The Mother’s Journey – The Truth Behind Maternal Instincts (Part 1)

The Mother’s Journey – The Truth Behind Maternal Instincts (Part 1)

When I was a Maiden, I always thought that you would have to become pregnant and give birth to become a mother for your maternal instincts to kick in. This could not be further than the truth.

Yes, once we do have children, our maternal instincts do kick in, however I believe that once you reach a certain time in your life when experiences, knowledge, and wisdom play a huge part in a woman’s life; this helps her to harness her maternal instincts without physically giving birth.

I’d like to take a moment to explain why I feel this way and why you do not become a mother just by giving birth.

I feel it was important to celebrate not only mothers by birth, but the women in the World who are mother figures to many children.  Women who have adopted children, women who have become a foster parent, women who have become aunties to their siblings and their best friends children, women who have taken on the role of a step-parent, and women who have found themselves in the role of mothers when a child needs someone to talk to when their birth mother has passed away.  These are just a few, as the list of incredible women who are mother figures is lengthy.

You see, there are many women in the World who have not physically given birth but have become some of the best mother’s out there that any child could ask for.

These are the mother’s and mother figures who deserve to be acknowledged; they are part of our Mother’s Journey.

I will be continuing with this topic and the conversation will continue

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Blessings To You All
